BRANDING COWS!

March 25, 2017

Ashley invited us up to ARIMO, IDAHO for some FAMILY business...BRANDING COWS! I love going up there every year for this event. This year Joyce and Mom wanted to come watch with us. They couldn't believe it! Mom kept saying how much Ray would love to have seen this. Joyce just couldn't believe it. It was such a great experience that most City folk never get to experience. I am always amazed at the thought that this is just going to be natural for my Grandkids every year. This year was the first time Lytton's young nephews got to participate in piercing the tags in the CALVES' EARS.  Of course I always love spending time with Remington, Paisley and Sadie so today turned out to be a terrific day! I was so happy to spend time up here with Ashley and Lytt and having my Mom and Joyce there too.

Lytton's job this year was to actually do the branding. They switch it up from year to year.

Lytton's Dad, Lynn...now he is a real RANCHER!
Maeli was in charge of giving the vaccine shots. Ashley has done that job in the past. It only takes like one minute to give shots, brand and tag ears. It's fast moving and the calves are happy as can be once they are reunited with their Momma's.
 Lynn and My Mom
3 year old Remington. He loves Branding Day!
Paisley was in awe of everything going on. She sat and watched the whole thing!
Sadie's first time! She is 5 months old now.
  Joyce, Paisley, Ashley and Sadie
Paisley loves the horses just as much as Ashley does!
These momma cows bellow the whole time they are separated from their calves.

Lytton's brother, Hans is a great cowboy! He is so good at lassoing.
Remington had fun runnin' all over finding cool stuff to play with.

                      Ashley and Lytton
 The three of us!
Remington loves playing with his other cousins. This Branding is a family affair!
Paisley was happy to stand on this fence the whole time and watch the cows.

 My cute Remington!

What a fun day hangin' out with the BASTIANS!
