BOSTON TURNS ONE!

July 26, 2012

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOSTON! Boston is ONE YEAR OLD today!  We are celebrating his BIRTHDAY on Saturday but Ashley came down to give her PRESENT to him today since she will be working during his PARTY. She gave him a JOHN DEERE TRACTOR and he LOVED it! She also gave him a really cute TRACTOR shirt, and he LOVED his new TURTLE BUBBLE BLOWER. He just has to push in the turtles tummy and it blows BUBBLES out the mouth so Boston doesn't have to put a wet bubble wand up to his mouth. She loves BOSTON and boy, does he LOVE AUNT ASHLEY!

PIONEER DAY BARBECUE

JULY 24, 2012

Debbie had us all over for a BARBECUE on the 24th of July (UTAH'S BIRTHDAY) or PIONEER DAY!  All of the food turned out delicious! Debbie made the best CHICKEN and this was the first time this year that I have had CORN ON THE COB and it was delicious! Debbie also makes the best POTATO SALAD ever! I made a RELISH TRAY, actually I made VEGGIES ON A STICK. They were good too!
This is my Veggie on a stick. It consists of cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, Fresh Mozzarella cheese, and an olive. I did that twice on each skewer.

PAINTING PLATES AND SMORE'S

Erin and her kids stayed in town for a few weeks after the 4th of July so one night I went to visit them and brought a bunch of glass PLATES and PERMANENT MARKERS so we could make our "YOU ARE SPECIAL PLATES!" Jackson and Rylee made the cutest plates! Jackson did an awesome SPIDERMAN plate and Erin got Channing's handprint on one. They were so cute! Then me, Erin and Jessica made a YOU ARE SPECIAL plate. We drew on them and then COOKED them for half an hour on 350 to set the marker. I have made these before and they worked well. I still have Zach and Ashley's from when they were little. But I did theirs on Melmac plates. But PINTEREST said I could do them on glass plates....LIARS!!  They turned out so cute, but when Erin put them in the dishwasher they DISAPPEARED! No more cute spiderman, and you are special plates! I was SO BUMMED! I think we need to find some Melmac plates.

After we did plates we made S'Mores. I love Jackson, Rylee, Channing and Reece. They are all so sweet! I am so glad I got to spend time with them before they go back to St George.
Erin, the perfectionist took forever on her plate, only to have it disappear! So sad!
Working hard to make the perfect plate
                                                       Jessica's plate is so cute!
Rylee and Jackson loving their nummy S'Mores!
This S'more looks like gooey goodness!
                                                           Erin and Channing
                                                                   A happy Reece!

BOSTONS FIRST HAIRCUT

July 22, 2012

Boston's hair was starting to look like a MULLET so Zach got out the CLIPPERS and we were nervous that he would CRY and WIGGLE around but he was SO GOOD! We just put his binky in his mouth and I tried entertaining him so they could CUT HIS HAIR. We were worried because Zach hacked one part and we thought we might have to BUZZ him but he was able to fix it and he did a great job! Bubsy now looks like a LITTLE BOY instead of a BABY!!

911 CALL

JULY 15, 2012

Everyone knows I have weird, CRAZY LUCK...I spent the night up in Logan with Ashley and Lytton. On Sunday afternoon we were watching a movie when all of a sudden an ALARM started going off. I was like, "You guys, I think that's a FIRE ALARM! Lytton went upstairs to check it out and it was the CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR! It said to HURRY OUTSIDE! I started to panic a little bit because of the NATURAL GAS SCARE at work a few months ago! So I run outside as Lytton and Ash take their sweet time turning on fans and opening up windows and doors. When they got outside I said we need to call 911! This is serious. Ashley called and the FIRE DEPT. came up and checked it out. They said they didn't get anything on their reading because the fans and doors had been opened. They changed the batteries on their detector and said this is an old detector that needs to be replaced. They said this is a serious threat so if you ever have it go off again you need to get out and call 911. But don't open the windows cuz we need to be able to get a reading.

So later when we went to bed I was still a bit nervous. At 12:30 in the middle of the night I awake again the CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM!!  I was freaking out. Ash and Lytt weren't waking up! I started pounding on their door and still they didn't wake up! I ran in their room and grabbed their  legs and shook them and said you guys get up! The ALARM is going off again! Again, they take their time and I was freaking! So we call 911 again and they came out but again nothing showed on their reading. They said its just an outdated DETECTOR. So they unplugged it and left. I could not go to sleep after that. I was a NERVOUS WRECK! I stayed up and read for hours after that. What CRAZY LUCK I have!

HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW!

JULY 15, 2012
Lytton was brave and let Ashley cut his hair. She has never cut hair before, but with some instruction from Zach over the phone she did a great job!

TORRENTIAL RAIN

Saturday afternoon black clouds started appearing and before you know it we had TORRENTIAL RAIN falling. I am not kidding, within 5 min water was OVERFLOWING the GUTTERS and going up over onto my SIDEWALK and GRASS! My DRIVEWAY in front of the GARAGE was all FLOODED and we had to turn the SUMP PUMPS on right away to avoid FLOODING in the basement! It was a warm RAIN and it was fun to play in. The neighbors came out to take pics and play in it too!
The rain is really coming down hard! I was worried about my new little tree!
Pouring rain!! Most of Kaysville only got a little bit of rain, nothing like we did!
Within  a few minutes the water was over the endge of the sidewalk as you can see!
This is Zach in the middle of the street!
Our neighbor Jake drove his Jeep in the gutter to splash Anna and her friends!
Look how deep! This is in our gutter by the curb 10 min. after it rained!
Zach sweeping the water away from the garage
We are so redneck here...trying to suck the water up with the sump pump...didn't work well!
