Another Vegas Weekend

I had such a fun and relaxing weekend in Vegas. The Lion King was awesome, and I enjoyed being out by the pool but my favorite part was being able to see Zach and Mikell. Poor Mikell felt miserable Saturday night and all day Sunday. Her pregnancy has been hard on her. For the first trimester she was dealing with nausea, but now she continues to have shooting pains and her pelvic bones are killing her! I felt so bad that she was in so much pain. I kind of have a feeling that the baby will come early, but that's just what I think. After we had been at the pool we went and had pizza over at Bill's house and visited with Brooke's friend that lives around the corner from Bill. We stayed up till about midnight and had to be up at 4:00 am to catch a 6:20 am flight and then hurry into work! Remind me to never do that again! My sleep is worth the $50 bucks I was trying to save!!  Anyway...here is a few pics of us at Bills. Continue reading on down the blog to see what we did while in Vegas.

I had to take a pic of Mikell using her  belly as a table to rest her pizza on! So funny!
Ashley is such a great big sister. Here she is playing with Zander and Bella

BREAKING AND ENTERING...KIND OF!

So we decided to go lay out by the pool and read and just RELAX.  Well, the wind was blowing like crazy (that's normal for Vegas) so we decided to just sit in the hot tub instead. So we walk over to the pool and there was a huge metal chain around the door (I don't think they wanted us in there) so we went through the club house door and out to the pool. We stayed for about an hour and then when we decided it was time to get ready to go eat at Bill's house, so we hopped up and imagine the SHOCK on our faces when we realized that the card reader to get back into the club house was BROKEN!! We were locked in the pool area! We had no idea how to get out. I had left my cell phone at Zach's and luckily Brooke had hers so I had her call Ashley and tell her to come meet us at the gate, where I would hand her the card to get into the clubhouse and then gave her my book to keep the door propped open or we would have one more prisoner at the pool!  Ashley didn't believe us! Finally she came out and released us from our imprisonment! On a normal Vegas night we wouldn't have minded being stranded by the pool but when the sun started to go down and the wind was really blowing, we were COLD! Here are some pics of our imprisonment. There is a moral of this story...Don't break into an area that is chained up and is obviously closed to the public. No BREAKING AND ENTERING!!
                                                                             HELP!!

"CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT"....LION KING BABY!!

Since February me and my friend Brooke (Tanner's Mom) have been planning a fun mother/daughter trip to Vegas to see Lion King. We were all excited until we found out Tanner forgot to ask for the weekend off, so Brooke asked her sister, Mylee, who lives in California to take Tanner's place. Mikell picked us up from the airport and then we went to Bill's where we watched the kids for a bit, and ate breakfast (He makes the best, thick, crispy bacon I have ever tasted!) then we went to Zach and Mikells to go SWIMMING, and we just laid out and talked until it was time to get ready for our matinee show of LION KING at the MANDALAY BAY. I cannot even tell you how INCREDIBLE the costumes were. It was UNBELIEVABLE!  I really enjoyed that play. Then we went to our favorite Mexican Restaurant by Zach's house. Don't ask me to tell you what its called cuz I can't remember, I can't pronounce it but it is authentic and they have a live Mexican band that is alot of fun! We then went back to Bill's and we were pooped! Then the next day we went to a FANTASTIC restaurant for breakfast called THE HASH HOUSE. Oh my Goodness! It was delish but the servings sized were insane! We couldn't even eat half of them. Zach had all of our leftovers to get him through the next few days! We talked, and talked and had such a great time together. Girls outings are simply the BEST!
On the airplane headed to Vegas to see Lion King

Mikell is 6 months pregnant! She loves relaxing in the pool!
                                                                Enjoying the sunshine!

                                                                Honkin' huge burrito!
Ashley ordered their famous chicken. She couldn't eat even half of hers either!

This honkin' huge quesadilla was filled with potatoes, eggs, ham, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, and sauce...delish!  Of course I couldn't even eat half of it!  Zach loved it as leftover :)

CUPCAKE BOUQUETS FOR MOTHERS DAY!

So, I'll be honest, I don't remember how I came across the idea to do a cupcake bouquet, but I thought I could do it even though I really don't know how to decorate cakes very fancy. So I gathered up some flower pots, clear cups, made some cupcakes and went for it! I was SHOCKED at how good the first one turned out. It really looked like a rose.  So I decided to make 9 bouquets for my Mom, Grandma, Mona, my Sisters, and my Visiting Teachers.  So I was really looking forward to giving them to my family and then it happened, a big bad nightmare...Debbie came to pick me up to take me to my mom's for Mothers Day and lets just say I didn't think it all the way through. They seemed pretty sturdy but they were actually top heavy, and I should have put womthing in the bottom of the pot because you guessed it...THEY TIPPED OVER IN THE CAR AND GOT ALL SMASHED! You couldn't even tell they were flowers! I was devastated after all the hard work! I had left one bouquet home so I took it to work, and Debbie and Diane had left theirs at my house and Deb took hers to work to show her friends there. Then I got a call and a lady saw them and asked if I would make 10 bouquets for her. I said sure. So this lady I work with showed me how to decide what to charge her. So I thought she might change her mind when she found out I was charging $15 per bouquet. She said she was fine with it cuz it usually cost $4.50 for one gourmet cupcake. So I made $150 :)

MINIATURE GOLF AT CHERRY HILL

Diane and I were going to go hit a bucket of balls but Steven called and said he wanted to go mini golfing. So we took him to Cherry Hill. He started out strong and I thought for sure he was going to kill us in the game, and we'd NEVER hear the end of it. He would be calling us "POOR LOSER"  and saying, YOU LOST! YOU LOST PUNKY!  But thank goodness he didn't do so well towards the end and I BEAT HIM!! Diane didn't play so well on a few holes but she still pulled out in front of Steven, so he definitley was the LOSER!
It was fun playing with him. He would  bend over to hit his ball and start shaking his butt. It was hilarious! Then I'd start walking and he'd grab is club and reach out to wrap it around my stomach to pull me back. He was a lot of fun!
