CAKE BOSS RESTAURANT, BAKERY AND DONNY AND MARIE!

January 20, 2018

We woke up early, ate breakfast and left RICHFIELD for ST GEORGE to pick up my sister, Debbie, who had been tending my niece's kids while she was on a trip of a lifetime!

We drove through BEAVER and CEDAR CITY in a horrible SNOW STORM! We got to ST GEORGE and got to see my nephew play basketball and then we went had pizza at the BRICK OVEN. It was so nice to visit with Erin's cute family and hear about her trip.
ST GEORGE BOUND!
We loved watching Jackson play basketball and to visit with these cuties!
 I love this little Channing!
 Erin, Rylee, Blair and Tyler
 Tyler, Mom and Debbie
 Joyce, Channing and Erin
Me and Aunt Joyce

Then I got a crazy idea...since I was so close to VEGAS, why not go and check off a few BUCKET LIST items. I have always wanted to go to CARLO'S BAKERY (you know CAKE BOSS?) and he has a restaurant called BUDDY V'S in the VENETIAN HOTEL in VEGAS. My mom and I have wanted to go there for years!

So then I thought, well Gee, we're already in Vegas, we may as well make a day and night of it and go to the DONNY AND MARIE SHOW that night! So I looked everything up and we were able to get a 5:00 reservation to Buddy V's and got 4 tickets to DONNY AND MARIE, and since the show got over late I thought it would be best to stay in the hotel where they performed so we didn't have to walk around at night. So I made a reservation at the FLAMINGO.  I was so excited!

So we drove to VEGAS!

Ok, so these salted caramel eclairs were almost the best thing I have ever tasted. Simply delicious!
Holy Canoli! These were the bet I have ever tasted! SO GOOD!
Then we walked across the hall to Buddy V's for our dinner:

Buddy and his wife Lisa.

Mom got Spaghetti with pomodoro sauce....truly the best marina sauce I have ever tasted!
I got BUCATINI CARBONARA w/PANCETTA. Soooo goooood!

Joyce and Debbie got ORRICHIETTE w/ITALIAN SAUSAGE. I didn't like this near as much as mine or my moms.

It was really cold in Vegas tonight. It was super windy too! But we walked 20 minutes from the Venetian back to the Flamingo for the Donny and Marie Show...super excited about it too!
Isn't this a pretty view from the Venetian?
IRON MAN!

Then we went to see DONNY AND MARIE. Ok, I was happily surprised at how entertaining this CONCERT was! They sang their old songs and some of the new songs off their new album, but they sang up to date current songs on the radio, and they were SO FUNNY! They showed clips from their old variety show, their time with Andy Williams and all of the stars they worked with. They had Marie dress and transform her face into like 20 different stars. It was awesome! They showed Donny as Joseph when he starred in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, and when he sang on Mulan, and Dancing with the Stars, etc... They showed Marie on Broadway in The King and I and boy did she knock our socks off when she sang opera from Madame Butterfly. She was in Chorus Line, and she sang "All that Jazz" from Chicago...they have had busy careers! I loved the bantering back and forth. Marie was so funny!!

It was so much fun. I loved it and I would recommend it. We thought the show ended on Valentine's Day but once we got there it didn't sound like they were quitting. So go get tickets and see this show!

Selfie before the show began.

Then we went back to our room and decided to try some of our BAKERY ITEMS from CARLO'S BAKERY. oh. my. gosh! SOOOOO GOOOOD!

Mom usually always hangs my bra up but tonight we hid hers and were going to hang it but we fell asleep. When she woke up she couldn't find her bra and we started laughing. I had her turn her back to scratch mine, while Joyce hurry and draped it across the TV. You had to be there but we laughed hard and she laughed too! Got her!

Look at these magnets! They were so fun! I wanted to buy some for the kiddo's cuz I think they would love them but they were $15 each and so I didn't. Plus they are styrofoam and I think Briggs would eat them. But I kind of really love them!
The next morning we headed home. This ended up being a really fun, filled to the brim weekend. So happy I get to travel with these fun ladies!

BEEHIVE BRAWL

January 19, 2018

Me, my mom and my Aunt Joyce rented a car and drove to RICHFIELD to watch Boston participate in a multi-state WRESTLING tournament called the BEEHIVE BRAWL. There were several hundred kids there. They came from California, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming and Utah.

We knew going into this TOURNAMENT that Boston would really struggle and it was going to be TOUGH! But HARD is GOOD. It will make him a better WRESTLER. We thought it would be fantastic if he could take TOP 6.

He WRESTLED  his little heart out and we were SUPER PROUD of him. He was up against some tough kids and he took 4TH PLACE! It was so stressful to watch him but I didn't want to miss it for anything.  I love that he loves this SPORT so much and that he is growing. We knew this tournament would prepare him for SUPER STATE in a few weeks.

They did a parade of the boys and they got to run out of this fog filled tunnel. The kids thought it was so cool!

 One proud Mama right here!
I love when Boston runs up to us and gives us big hugs after each match.
Boston is lucky to have this dedicated, loving Dad who coaches him and supports him so much.
Love how Mikell photo bombed us! LOL!!
Waylon was tired and he zonked out during the tournament. Cute little guy. He's always so good to  play quietly at all of Boston's sporting events.
Grandma Melanie and Papa always come to support Boston too!
It was so cute when Waylon grabbed Joyce's hand and walked out with her. Aaahhh!

We slept over in Richfield and on the way there we stopped at the RED BARN for our ice cream. We were so happy that it wasn't snowing on the way there. It's supposed snow pretty hard the next day.

We had a fun day today! But we were pooped and went to bed early.
