CARD PARTY

July 6, 2014

After church Ashley wanted to go pick up her sewing machine from Grandma Shirley's house. We visited for a while and then decided to PLAY CARDS. We played GARBAGE and Ash totally creamed us. We had a great time. I love the 5 generation pic we took!

I love that Remington was smiling in this 5 Generation picture.

What an exhausting, but fun 4th of July weekend we had!

MORE FIREWORKS

July 5, 2014

After we came home from Farmington Canyon we did some more FIREWORKS. Just as we were doing our FINALE, our neighbors put on their AERIAL DISPLAY and stole my THUNDER! We stayed up late again watching the amazing FIREWORKS from the neighbors that must've spent a fortune on FIREWORKS. They honestly are as good, if not better, than Davis High's.

Surprisingly, Winston wasn't afraid of the fireworks. Remi was sound asleep.
The flash was way too bright so they said I could take a pic if they could close their eyes. I guess they all did but Waylon didn't get the message!

FARMINGTON CANYON

July 5, 2014

Mom needed to get out of the house so we took Mom and Grandma up to FARMINGTON CANYON for a picnic. Mom was shocked when we started going up the narrow dirt road. She thought it would just be a ride like up to Mueller Park. She kept saying, "Been there, done that." I won't be going up here ever again. Once we were at our location, she loved it. It was so nice to be up in the cool canyon instead of down in 100 degree temps at home.

We watched the kiddo's so Zach, Kell, Lytton and Ash could shoot guns. Everyone had a nice time and it was relaxing being up in nature.

Big Grandma loved being in the mountains except for all the moths that were flying around. She kept saying she was going to knock their damn heads in! ha ha...she has been swearing a lot more these days!

FANTASTIC FIREWORKS!

July 4, 2014

No one believes the view I have from my own front porch. The FIREWORKS going on all around us all night long were FANTASTIC! Davis High, Oakridge Country Club, Lagoon, all were great but the neighbors on Burton Lane, Shadowbrook, and Country Lane were SPECTACULAR! I cannot believe how crazy my neighborhood gets on the 4th of July. It's so much fun! It was funny watching Zach do his little dance while putting on our own FIREWORKS display. He is so funny! We stayed up til midnight watching the Carlson's put on their display. I wonder how much money they spend on FIREWORKS every year. They do a Ton!

                                                     Boston showing me his sparkler
The Statue of Zachary. He is so patriotic :)
Here he was doing his dance. He was cracking the neighbors up too.
Waylon was probably wondering what the heck was going on!
                                                Another display by Zachary.
                                                         Ashley and Lytton
This was taken in the middle of Davis High's fireworks. I am surprised I got everyone in the pic.
I love celebrating the 4th of July

POOL PALS

July 4, 2014

After we got home from my Dad's and all the fun we had there sliding on the water slides, we came home and it was so hot, we decided to jump in the pool for a little swim. We had a great time. Remington loved it and I had fun until Ashley tipped me over backwards by my feet and made me do a back somesault without my nose plugged! Then I was ready to go in. Other than that, it was a blast!

4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION

July 4, 2014

We had a great time this 4th of July. It was so much better for me since I didn't have to do all the GAMES and do a lot of the food this year. I am so glad too because I got a little case of heat stroke setting up the day before.

We decided to have it at my Dad's again this year. He bought a new WATER SLIDE! It was so much fun. Everyone enjoyed it. My Dad is going to start renting it out if anyone is interested. It really is a blast!

I took a bazillion pics and video but for the sake of time and space I am only going to post a few. Sorry if you were there and I didn't post a pic of you this time. I was so bummed out that we didn't take our annual family 4th of July picture this time! That bothers me so bad because I would bet it is Grandma Hobbs' last one. Who knows though? She might surprise us! We also forgot to have the annual Watermelon Seed Spittin' Contest! I will do much better next time.

Before I post this I want to thank Zach and Grandpa Tom, Mikell and Mona for working so hard to set this all up for us this year. I really appreciate it.

This is the water slide my Dad bought. It is so much fun!
This is the slide my Dad rented for the day
My almost 100 year old Grandma wearing her Old Navy Flag shirt!
We put up canopies and tarps with a mist to help us stay cool.

Jackson going very fast down the slide
Ashley took Remington down. He liked it the first time but not after that.

                                                            I really didn't squirt Erin!

Jackson beating his very fast time
Morgan loved holding Winston most of the afternoon.
Big Grandma. She didn't like the mist. She kept saying when the breeze would come, someone turn off that damn water!
I had to show the table cloth I made out of bandanas.

Debbie taking a turn watching the kiddo's play in the pool.
                                                             Ashley and Lytton
Brody and Lytton are hilarious to watch. Actually all of the older boys are a blast to watch!
Here they are again. I actually have these two pics switched. This was when they were coming down and the one above is of them landing!
Sweet Jessica taking it easy in this heat.
We were happy when Steve put on some trunks and we all video taped him coming down the slide, well trying to at least. He got stuck and had to have Zach push him down!
Boston raced Grandpa Tom. He told him he was slow and next time had to go on the little slide.
My Dad. Thanks for putting on a great 4th of July
Boston and Channing loved eating lots of Rocket Pops and Otter Pops
These two little ones were all tuckered out. Remi and Waylon took a good snooze.
I love this pic of Zach. He had so much fun going down the slide. The boys kept racing to see who could get the fastest time. I believe Andy won with Brody a close second.
Debbie went down several times too.

We had such a fun time together as a family. I am so thankful we can spend time together, I am thankful for this beautiful country that we live in, and for the FREEDOMS we enjoy.

                                                          GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
