GRANDMA'S 101ST BIRTHDAY!

August 5, 2015

My Grandma, RENA HOBBS turned 101 YEARS OLD TODAY!!  I cannot believe it! She couldn't either! She kept saying, "Aah, come on! I am not that old!"  She was so happy to have the family there to CELEBRATE with her. She cried several times when she saw the GREAT, GREAT GRANDKIDS. She couldn't believe it! She is losing her memory but she does know one thing and that is how proud she is of her FAMILY! She said, "I have the best family ever. We get together often and have so much fun."  Then she said, "I am so glad not one of them are in jail! They are all good!" Well, we do have that going for us!

We sang Happy Birthday to her and served CAKE AND ICE CREAM to everyone including the other ladies in her Care Center. There was one lady who kept saying she didn't get any even though she had 3 pieces and her dirty plate was in front of her...so funny!

We were also super excited because Andy and Morgan weren't there. Morgan's water finally broke and they were in the hospital getting ready to have a baby! We were hoping they would have it on Grandma's Birthday! But they didn't. More on that later :)

I am so happy that I have a 101 year old Grandma. She is a very witty, funny, sweet lady and I am lucky she is my GRANDMA! I love you so much GRANDMA!

TOUR OF UTAH

August 5, 2015

Ok, so did you know that the two top BIKE RACES in the WORLD are:
 1. The TOUR D'FRANCE and
2. TOUR OF UTAH.  I am not kidding! It's a huge RACE and it usually is in Southern Utah at places like the Canyonlands down there.  Well, this year it started in Logan, Bear Lake, Antelope Island, Trapper's Loop, down in front of my work in Farmington, Park City, Snowbird, SLC, etc...
It is a 7 day RACE and they BIKE about 110 miles a day. It has been so exciting following it all.

Well, on the 3rd day, they were going to RIDE right past our office. So the Commissioners planned a little block party with ice cream, cow bells, and they let us close our office for about 20 minutes to watch them RIDE past us. It was SO EXCITING!!  If you blinked, you missed it. I don't need to go to the TOUR D' FRANCE now, this was the same thing with many of the same riders! These riders come from all over the world!

Right before they came to Farmington, they had ridden Trapper's Loop and there was a bad crash there! A biker reached back to get his water bottle and crashed and it caused a 20 BIKE PILE UP. He had a broken collar bone and had to pull himself out of the race. So anyway, it was pretty exciting to see them and I was so happy to have a front row seat and I got lots of video and pics too!
My heart started pumping when they started coming around the corner! This is exciting!!
This is the lead and one of these guys won this part of the leg. They were going 55 MPH!

At the end of the race in Bountiful this guy was in first place until the last seconds and then the whole pack gave it all they got and he ended up taking like 5th or 6th place in the last second!
This is the 2nd pack of bikers. They were 1 1/2 minutes behind the first group. There were a ton of them and they ride so close together it's scary!

Then all of these cars carrying bikes came buy. They were seriously going so fast to keep up. Seriously they were speeding around those corners going 55 mph!
This has been in our lobby at work for several weeks getting us all pumped up for it!

We even gave them a kiss for luck!

THE RAINS CAME DOWN AND THE FLOODS CAME UP!

August 3, 2015

Wow! What a crazy day! It RAINED SO HARD ALL DAY LONG! And I mean it poured buckets! I was so worried that I was going to flood but thanks to Zach, I think he has fixed my flooding problems! Everywhere else it flooded though. It even flooded at my work and we got to go home early. They had to turn off the power because the water was getting near the computer stuff. We sat in the dark for about an hour before they told us we could go home. Kaysville was totally flooded! Davis High looked like a lake and people took their paddle boards and rafts out there and all of Main Street was flooded. It was fun to see all of it just because I was so happy my basement wasn't flooded!! I am so grateful for that!

This is what we did in the dark at work:
It was pitch dark but my flash makes it look like it wasn't. We found out that our flashlights in our Emergency Kit were not working. The batteries were dead, so we used the flashlights on our cell phones.

I was so excited that we were going to get to go home early!!
Dawna wrapped up in her blanket and took a nap
Amber kicked up her feet and played on her phone
Nancy and Michelle.  We all just talked and laughed and couldn't wait to go home!

When Zach got home from work he took his family over to Davis High (I used to take him and Ashley when they were little and it flooded to swim) to play in the water. It had already receded 2 feet by the time they got there but it was still pretty deep!
Boston thought this was so cool!
Look how deep. Zach walked out there in his work clothes! This is after the water was receded 2 ft.

Waylon didn't dare to go too far out there. Look in the back and you'll see a canoe.

Cyndi took a pic of my corner with her cell phone. I still cannot believe I did not flood! :)

This was such a fun storm. I love summer storms! Can I just say again how happy that my basement flood?! Thanks Zach!!

ON THE ROCKS!

Aug 1, 2015

After Shaelyn's Bridal Shower, Ashley and Lytton came down from Idaho where they rented a trailer, borrowed his Dad's truck and came down with my ROCKS!! I was so excited! Zach, Lytton and Mikell worked hard dumping my ROCKS in my parking strips for me. It was such a hot day and they worked hard. We even put rocks between some of my bushes and stuff and it made it looks so much better. Now my little island is complete too and I appreciate so much all of the work Zach and Mikell have done for me! Thanks guys!!

                                                                Zach is a hard worker!
Lytton is a hard worker too!
Lytton, Zach, Boston and Remington. Those boys were a great help to their Dads!
Mikell worked hard too. I appreciated all of her hard work. Plus she cleaned out all of my flower beds!
                                             Remington and Lytton working together

                                                            Hard worker right here!
Remington shoveled rocks with a shovel in one hand and a gun in the other.

Remi loved playing trucks in the dirt
Love this little guy. He was working up a sweat helping us do the rocks!

We were going to take a few pics of Paisley and then decided not to. She wasn't participating very well.
Boston loves Baby Paisley. He gave her kisses and held her hand. It was precious!

                                                                  Remington and Waylon
Just the bunch of them gathering around playing
Waylon and Remington loved playing trucks in the empty flower beds.
Mikell would blow on Waylon and he would throw his head back and laugh! He thought it was so funny!
I love this cute little smile. Waylon is such a sweetheart!
Zach and Jose went into the garage and Zach gave him som boxing tips.

I love my FAMILY so much! Thanks for all of your hard work. I appreciate all the time it took the Bastian's and Lytton's Dad for giving me the rocks from his gravel pit. I am so thankful! Zach and Mikell and Boston have worked so hard in my yard getting it ready. Thank you tons!
