DINNER WITH FRIENDS...COVID STYLE!

May 6, 2020

Oh how I have missed my FRIENDS! I have missed getting together for our dinners or breakfasts and having face to face conversations. So we planned to meet in the church parking lot and Suzanne B. would pick up everyone's order from Zupa's. We put our chairs in a big circle and ate dinner and talked, and talked, and laughed and laughed until we were freezing to death and went home.

It was supposed to be really hot so we thought we'd sit in the shade. Then the icy wind kept blowing and we were huddled under blankets and we were SO COLD! But that didn't stop us. We stayed for hours. It was just what I needed. I love these ladies and I had missed the last 2 times they got together so I had to get caught up and boy did I learn some news!! I am still happy for my friend but just kind of shocked, and then I found out a few of them were having more Grandkids and it was just so good!

I remember when we would get together and talk about our kids, and dating, and missions, and marriages and now we are talking about Grandkids and going through the change, and we are just getting old! But I am so thankful that they are my FRIENDS for LIFE! I just LOVE THEM ALL!

I left my mask home so I used this towel to cover my face.

So happy we got to finally see each other!

TATTOO'S ON THE KIDDO'S

May 5, 2020

I came home from work and couldn't believe my eyes! All of the kids ran up to me and wanted me to check out their TATTOO'S!

It looks like someone (Zach) got a hold of a red marker and went to town!

He drew Eagles, Zombies, Flowers, and Shapes all over them. Their backs, bellies, and arms were covered! Who had the most fun??? Probably the artist!

You can tell Briggs started it by drawing all over himself, and Zach finised it. Gotta love this spaghetti lovin face!

 Same thing here!

Even messy face Skylee got in on the action!
She got a heart and a flower on  her arms...don't mind the spaghetti stuck to her arm. I got these while they were eating their dinner!

This cracks me up! Briggs wanted Shapes!

Wow! Boston!....don't mind my living room...I am STILL going through boxes and crap!
These kids loved it and I am sure they were a little shocked that Dad would actually draw on them!

NACHO BAR...CINCO de MAYO

May 5, 2020

After I came home from work and I gave my workers their Cinco de Mayo bags, I wanted to have a NACHO BAR with the Grandkids and put NACHO CHEESE in my CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN...IT WAS A HIT!

It was so much fun. I quickly put some sides in little bowls like Guacamole, Green Chiles, Sour Cream, Jalapenos, Olives, and regular Cheese, and Refried Beans. The best part was the liquidy NACHO CHEESE coming down the fountain.

What a fun TRADITION I think I just started!!  OLE'!
 Doesn't that look SO GOOD??
These kids loved it...I will explain the drawings all over the bodies in the next post! LOL!

I would have done seasoned meat too but as you can see in the pic, they had spaghetti first and this was like a snack after dinner!

I'm so happy I did this. I think I'll do it next year too, and the year after that, and the year after that...

CINCO de MAYO...MUSTACHE MASKS

May 5, 2020

It was CINCO de MAYO and we were told we could not have our annual NACHO BAR at work because of the stupid Corona Virus!  So we did the next best thing...I made GIFT BAGS for each of the employees in our office, and Dawna cut out MUSTACHES to put on the MASKS that we have to wear. It turned out so cute and everyone loved them.

In the bags I put a bag of DORITOS, some GUACAMOLE, TOSTITOS CHEESE SAUCE and a can of FRITO'S BEAN DIP and a MEXICAN Fruit Punch call JARRITOS.

Our new employee that several people have commented that we look like sisters.
OLE!

REECE'S DRIVE-BY BAPTISM

May 2, 2020

My Great-Niece, Reece, got BAPTIZED today!!  I got to watch it all on Zoom. Because of the Corona Virus everything has changed and it's not possible for all of us to meet to watch her so we did the next best thing. We all watched on Zoom while Jessica and her family, and the Grandparents got to go to the church to watch it in person. Beau gave a wonderful prayer and they sang the Baptism Song. Rick played the piano, and Debbie led the music. There were no talks, and then came REECE wearing the SPECIAL BAPTISM DRESS that is a keepsake in this family. Brody BAPTIZED her and it was so great!

Afterwards the FAMILY and her FRIENDS drove down the street and into the cul-de-sac and did a DRIVE-BY up to REECE. We honked and hooted and hollered. She stood at a table next to her Mom and Dad and they handed out nummy cookies to everyone. We told her how proud we were of her and gave her little gifts. She looked so cute and so happy!

This is the way to do it, I tell ya. She got more one on one attention and it was more special this way. If we had gone to their house afterwards for a lunch, she would have been playing with the kids and not really been able to have a solo moment with each person.

This is was so dang great and I just loved it! I am so proud of Reece for choosing to be BAPTIZED a member of THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS!

Congrats! Reece!!
Look at the big line of cars all there to CELEBRATE REECE!
 Almost our turn!
This was so fantastic! Joyce drove me so I could take pics out the window and had her our gift
Aaahhh, proud moment right here. This is a big milestone. Look how happy Reece looks!

FLY OVER FOR HEALTHCARE WORKERS

April 2020

As I was coming back into work from lunch, I saw everyone standing outside. I asked what was going on. Did we have a fire drill?  They said, No we are out waiting for the JETS to FLY-BY. I was so excited I hadn't missed it!

The JETS FLEW BY to show their thanks for the HEALTHCARE WORKERS during this Pandemic. It was really cool, but if you blinked, you'd miss it.

In my photo you can see them in the distance so I stole a screenshot from Haley Smith's Instagram post so you can see them closer.

 See them out West?

This was so cool. I love it when they fly in and it just gets me, watching them fly so close together!

Thank you to all the HEALTHCARE WORKERS!

DALYN GRADUATES FROM BYU...AND HIS BIG SURPRISE!

April 2020

My Aunt Joyce's Grandson, Dalyn, just GRADUATED from BYU!! Because of the Corona Virus he couldn't have a real Graduation so much to his SURPRISE...His parents and siblings drove out from Chicago and Joyce got all the neighbors involved and they threw Dalyn a real GRADUATION that turned out to be much better than a stuffy old GRADUATION with thousands of other kids.

Joyce's next door neighbor is the President of LDS Business College and so he had the robes and the hat, and he gave the GRADUATION SPEECH.  He had an Area Seventy that lives down the street in attendance as well. The neighbors all sat out on their parking strips in their lawn chairs, and then his family sat in the driveway. His fiance's parents had a big speaker and microphone set up so the neighbors down the street could hear everything. It was awesome!

After the GRADUATION SPEECH, his Mom, Laura got up and gave a cute little speech that was short and then his siblings got up and gave a Graduation Quote and then each would put a lei made of his favorite snacks and candy, around his neck.

It was short and sweet and everyone had a great time. I think Dalyn was so SURPRISED and  SO HAPPY!

This was the best GRADUATION I have ever attended!

Afterwards we had dinner outside and then Joyce's ward went around the streets performing a TALENT SHOW that was SO MUCH FUN! It was nice visiting with my cousins I don't see very often and this was a great night out and much needed too!

CONGRATULATIONS DALYN! I am so PROUD of your hard work!!

 Dalyn
Dalyn with the Area Seventy, sorry, I don't remember his name!

Here's a few photos of the neighbors coming out to support him.
Dalyn walked down the street to thank them all for coming.

Dalyn's Mom, Laura, gave a cute short speech.

After Dalyn's Graduation we ate dinner and then celebrated Trey's Graduation from High School.

We had Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Baked Beans

Me and Mom wore BYU COLORS to represent the school Dalyn GRADUATED from!

We got him a little AMAZON GRADUATION GIFT as well:
