LET'S GO FLY A KITE!

May 10, 2014

I have been wanting to have a KITE FLYING CONTEST for so long and I was so happy when my FAMILY was all for it! We met over at Debbie's because she has a huge field to FLY KITES in and it's usually a little WINDY there and then afterwards we had a BBQ. I was so happy that everyone got into it and participated. Everyone had a lot of fun! Next year we will do it in late March or April so it's a bit more WINDY. I was just thankful it didn't rain on our day! I wish there had been more GUSTY WINDS. Our KITES would lift up but then the WIND would die and they'd come crashing down. Diane made the funniest homemade KITE. It was made with toothpicks I think for the sticks and some tinsel for the kite and a tiny newspaper cutout that said GO! It really was cute! My Dad got his to stay up the longest but it was so funny when Zach got Boston's BATMAN KITE up in the air and then kept adding STRING to it. He took my huge roll, Ashley's, his from another kite, and he brought an extra roll. I bet it was a mile up in the sky! It took him the longest time to reel it back in. His forearm was killing him by the time he got the KITE back down! Steven had the best time too! What a FUN DAY we had FLYING KITES!

I made AWARDS and here's who won:
HIGHEST FLYING KITE: BOSTON
LONGEST FLYING: DAD

REMINGTON'S 6 MONTH PHOTO SHOOT

April 2014

REMINGTON TURNED 6 MONTHS OLD! We had a PHOTO SHOOT for his pics. He is such a SMILEY, HAPPY BABY! It was amazing how he would SMILE and be so cute for the camera for 2 hours! Check out this CUTIE PIE:
He has started doing this funny thing with his tongue since his teeth have come in. Silly guy!
This is my favorite picture. Seriously! Check out those eyelashes! Love him.

This is how he was for most of the 2 hours. Just that big open mouthed smile that I adore about him.

He looks a little mischievous here!
I love this of him and Ashley. So precious!

Ashley and Remington playing. She is a wonderful Mommy and I am so proud of her.

SO...I REALLY DID SEW!

May 3, 2014

The ladies at work decided to have a SEW DAY at work on a Saturday. We all brought our projects with us and poor Darla was running around helping everyone...she SEWS like no other!!  Well, those of you who really know me knows I DON'T SEW! I am not just saying that. I really CAN'T SEW! But I saw a cute tablecloth on Pinterest made out of bandanas that I wanted to make for the 4TH OF JULY. Darla said it would be really easy for me. Ha! It took me HOURS to make it, but I really did SEW IT! I was so proud of myself. But the whole I time I was thinking, I would much rather just buy it. SEWING is just NOT MY THING! It was fun to try it. I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon! Thanks Darla for your help! I will be so excited to use it this 4TH OF JULY!

Here I am really sewing!

Cyndi made a bunch of terry cloth burp rags. They turned out really cute. She gave a couple to Mikell.
Here is Darla and Julie. They are awesome seamstresses. Nicole and Amber are in the background.
Dawna and her daughter, Nicole made the cutest burp rags and blankets.
Lori made a ton of baby blankets.
My retired boss, Pat, cut out tons of squares from her husbands bike trips to make a T-shirt quilt.
Darla's mom made car seat belt straps for comfy driving for the kiddos. They turned out so cute.
