HEADBANDZ

December 25, 2012

When we got home from visiting FAMILY for CHRISTMAS we pulled out some of the new GAMES. I got HEADBANDZ this year and it was a lot of fun to play but much harder than I remember. Lytton and Mikell kept getting hard ones. I couldn't get Ronald McDonald to save my life! We laughed a lot and had a blast!

CHRISTMAS 2012

December 25, 2012

It looked like we had a HUGE Christmas this year because presents filled my entire living room and we only had a very small walkway into the kitchen, but it was kind of deceiving because I wrapped most of the stuff they got to put in their big Rubber Maid bins full of Emergency Preparedness stuff. But their main gifts were: Zach and Mikell got a really nice backpack for carrying Boston in when they go hiking. They needed that and I know they will use it alot! Ashley and Lytton got a new tent and a fire pit which I know they will use a lot! Then of course some clothes and ammo for the guys, and just stuff. Some of the stuff to put in their bins were camel backs, walkie talkies, hatchets, tarps and duct tape, you know that kind of stuff. Boston got lots of clothes and toys and it was fun spending Christmas with him! I love being with my kids and grandchild more than anything else on earth! I really enjoyed this Christmas and spending it with family.
Steven came over to show us his "Christmas Surprise" which of course is a new costume! And then we went to my Dad's house to visit with the FAMILY there. I was shocked and excited to see John and Stef and their kids! We had a wonderful CHRISTMAS!
My kids' favorite thing to open are their stockings!
Santa brought Boston a new 4 wheeler bike and a basket ball hoop!
Zach was so happy that Santa brought him a new Rifle!

Tradition: Zach always gets Cheez Whiz in his stocking!

CHRISTMAS EVE JAMMIES

December 24, 2012

Zach and Mikell, and Ashley and Lytton spent most of the evening with their other FAMILIES while I stayed home and WRAPPED, AND WRAPPED, and DELIVERED FUDGE to the neighbors. They got home just in time for us to OPEN our Christmas Jammies. I bought them when we were in Yellowstone this past summer. They were burnt orange pants with brown buffalo on them and a brown shirt! I was sad we weren't able to get a pic of all of them together wearing them. It was just a little bit crazy this year!

ADULT SIBLING DINNER

December 15, 2012

We had our ANNUAL ADULT CHRISTMAS DINNER at my Mom's house. I made the meal and tried something new. Anyone who knows me knows I DO NOT LIKE SEAFOOD! But I know my FAMILY loves it so I thought I would try a new recipe. I made HAWAIIAN CRUSTED HALIBUT with LEMON BUTTER SAUCE and a new POTATO recipe that everyone loved! Also on the menu was COOKED CANDIED CARROTS and RASPBERRY JELLO SALAD and for DESSERT we had ITALIAN CREAM CAKE. I ate ROTISSARIE CHICKEN from Smith's!  Eveyone LOVED the FOOD and I was so relieved!

The best part about this PARTY is spending time with my SIBLINGS and PARENTS. We draw names for GIFTS and EXCHANGE them here. We take PICS every year and just TALK AND LAUGH and ENJOY each other. I think our CONVERSATION this year was a little GROSS for some but we spent a lot of time talking about my Dad's COLONOSCOPY and lots of OLD AGE STUFF! I am so glad I have SEVERAL more YEARS before I have to worry about all of that! The funniest part was when Deb asked my Dad if they found his HEAD down there when they did the colonoscopy. He LAUGHED so hard and for so long! We had never seen him LAUGH that hard. It just hit him so funny! He turned to Mona and said, "lets keep that picture for proof that my head isn't up my butt!"  We laughed so hard! I know it sounds dumb but it was just one of those time you'd have to have been there!

Here is the HALIBUT WITH LEMON BUTTER SAUCE AND POTATOES

Diane and my brother Scott. I was SO HAPPY THAT HE CAME!
