FEEDING THE DUCKS

February22, 2015

Ashley and Lytton took Remington and Boston to the PARK to FEED THE DUCKS while I went to the hospital to visit Waylon. I was so thankful they stayed and watched Boston for us. It was a freezing cold day though. Good thing they were bundled up!

WAYLON AT PRIMARY CHILDRENS HOSPITAL

February 20-21, 2015

Waylon had gone to the doctors for a DOUBLE EAR INFECTION. He keeps getting those! He's teething like crazy and he has not felt good. Well, the doctor gave him Augmentin and it gave him diarrhea and he was throwing up. So much that Mikell couldn't keep anything down him. Then he wouldn't take anything. He would not drink or eat a single thing. He had no energy and he just looked limp. Mikell called the doctor and expressed her concerns about dehydration. They told her to wait until he didn't have a pee pee diaper or tears.  I was at Time Out For Women and got a text from Zach to call him ASAP. I did and he said Mikell and Melanie was taking Waylon to the E.R. while Zach stayed with Boston. They didn't think they would be staying the night but PRIMARY CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL admitted Waylon and told Mikell that he was so severely dehydrated and that he would not have made it through the night if she hadn't brought him in. I am so thankful Mikell didn't listen to the doctor and wait. A mom knows her baby!!

Well, they hooked him up to an IV and he kept having massive diarrhea and he couldn't keep anything in. They had to give him 2 IV's because he was so dehydrated. Then they did an Ultra Sound on him because they thought he might have Sepsis. That is BAD!  He didn't thank goodness but they said he had an infection in his intestine (like a bad stomach flu). Well he didn't improve and the next day they were going to take him off the IV and see if he would drink on his own. The little guy would not! It was frustrating and poor Mikell and Zach! They were so worried. We all were! I never prayed so hard in my life. If only he would eat!!

Sunday afternoon Mikell went to her Grandma's to take a nap while me and Zach were up there. Poor thing hadn't slept in days!  Zach was getting Waylon to take a few sips of Gatorade from a straw and eventually got him to drink a half an ounce!  Throughout the day he got him to drink 3 oz and they released him. As soon as he got home he had a blow out!  All night they just kept doing all they could to get him to drink so he didn't have to go back.

Little Waylon is a sweet special spirit. There is just something about him! I was so worried that he wasn't going to make it because of that special spirit. But he pulled through and was home for 2 days and finally improving. He isn't out of the woods yet, and I pray with every fiber of my being that he will beat this thing and get strong again. I love Waylon and he brings our family so much joy! Please keep him in your prayers!

As you can see they tried to get him to drink Gatorade and he was just lethargic and would sleep a little here and there. It was brutal for Mikell!
For a few minutes he would perk up and want to play and then go right back down again :(

His little face and feet were so swollen from the fluids they were trying to push through him with the IV's.
This little guy loves his Papa! He would sleep when Papa would hold him.

It's so sad for me to see them all tied up to the IV. He's too little for this to be happening to him!

I got him to laugh when I would sing the Wheels on the Bus and they babies cry on the bus. He loves that part! This was right before they let us take him home. I love this "LITTLE ONE" (That's what I call him) with all of my heart!

TIES OR TUTU'S?

February 21, 2015

After Time Out For Women, me and Ashley rushed home to pack up the cars and head over to my Dad's. I was throwing a GENDER REVEAL PARTY for Ashley and Lytton. I could not wait to see if it was going to be a BOY or a GIRL! I was secretly hoping for a GIRL, but I would be happy too if it was a BOY!  I forgot my sign that said TIES OR TUTU'S. But that's the theme of the party. We handed out a bowtie or a tutu for what each person thought it would be. Then we, on the countdown from 5, sprayed SILLY STRING. It was going to be either BLUE OR PINK. We ate chicken BOWTIE pasta and had a great time celebrating with the Bastian's! So, this was funny. Before we sprayed the silly string I told Boston to wait til it was time and he was not expecting all the noise, and screams, and silly string all over the place and he just started crying! Poor little guy! It scared him! But I am happy to announce that I am having a 4th Grandchild and it is a GIRL!! PINK silly string was everywhere! Yay!!  A GIRL! Ashley was hoping for a GIRL and I am sure this little precious GIRL will have Lytton wrapped around HER little finger!

Grandma Suzie with Remington...he is going to be a big brother to a baby sister!

Ashley covered the Silly String and tied it with a blue and very light pink ribbon

I feel bad Boston was scared and didn't like it. But we had a fun time and it was everywhere!

TIME OUT FOR WOMEN

February 20-21, 2015

Ashley came down to go with me and Mikell to TIME OUT FOR WOMEN. We LOVE going to this and coming back so SPIRITUALLY UPLIFTED! We LAUGH, we CRY, and we LEARN and it is just amazing! We were so disappointed that Mikell ended up not coming with us because Waylon was so ill (She ended up admitting him into the hospital...more on that in the next post). We had a wonderful time though and I can't wait to go again next year.
This is the only selfie that semi-turned out! Just wanted to put it in so we didn't forget this great experience we shared together!
