THROW BACK THURSDAY

Surf and Swim 1991:

I loved this pic of Ashley at 18 months old!
Grandma Shirley with Ashley and Jessica and Zach in the background
Zach at almost 3 years old
Jessica 4, Zach 3 and he really needs to go to the bathroom! :)
Four cousins in the tub! Zach, Jessica, Ashley and Erin (I think she was 7.)
This is Surf and Swim too but a little bit earlier. I think it is 1990 because I think Ashley was 12 months here. But my Dad, Chad, Zach, Jessica, Shaelyn, Burgundy and Ashley are in this picture.

I love Throw Back Thursdays! It's so much fun for me to look at these old pics!

WHEN MOM'S AWAY THE BABES WILL PLAY

January 23, 2014

Jessica, Reece and I drove down to ST GEORGE to tend Erin and Tyler's kids while they vacationed in THAILAND! Jackson, Rylee and Channing really are GREAT KIDS! But it was hard! Me and Jessica were exhausted. Thank goodness Erin had the kids on a great BEDTIME routine to really make it easy for us. I felt so bad leaving Jessica on her own for 2 days to do it all on her own until Debbie could make it. I stayed from Thursday to Monday. We had FUN while we were there though.  We DANCED, we played with BUBBLES, SIDEWALK CHALK, went for a WALK, rode BIKES, (the weather was so great!!) had GAME DAY where we played 2 of my favorites, the FLOUR GAME and the CANDYBAR GAME! We had movie night and watched DISPICABLE ME TWO, and we had UNDER THE SEA theme day. Jessica worked hard to make everything FUN for the kids. She is such an AWESOME AUNT! It was hard for me to leave cuz I really LOVE those KIDS, and I felt bad for JESSICA. But I'll tell you what, that CHANNING and I really BONDED! I love that kid! He is so LOVEY, AND CUDDLY! I have never met a kid like that in my life. I know he gets it from Erin but he is even more CUDDLY than Erin was. It killed me to leave him and I miss him so much! Man! I could just eat him up! Take a look at some of our pictures:
                                                   Rylee, Channing, Jessica and Reece
Channing loved riding this scooter and his other little bike.
They played with tons of toys in the tub!
                                                              Cute little Rylee
Darling little Channing. I love those eyes!

Rylee showing Reece some awesome dance moves. Boy, do these girls love to dance!
Performing on the fireplace for us
Jackson's got some cool moves, and Rylee loves to sing, dance and perform.
                                                                  Blowing Bubbles

Love this little girl. I forgot to mention that it took me forever to get two big pieces of gum out of her hair! I was so thankful we didn't have to cut it. It was horrible!!
                                                                  Some of our artwork

Very serious about his artwork....future Picasso?
Reece loved playing with chalk. Erin has these cool chalk holders.
I would draw something and Rylee would color it all in for me.
We went on a walk on this beautiful day. It totally felt like Spring! I didn't want to go home!
Playing the Flour Game. Jackson strategically makes a slice.
Jessie lost! She had to pick up the dime with her teeth in all of that flour!

Rylee takes a turn. She takes a big slice and makes a bunch of cracks for us!

Jackson loved losing! He thought it was so funny to get all covered in flour!
Even Channing played and got a little flour on his nose but he didn't like that part!
                                                             I was next to lose!
Then we played the Candy Bar Game where you have to roll doubles to get a stab with a fork to try to unwrap and get as much chocolate as you can until the next person rolls doubles. I did pretty good at this game!
What? 4 kids in the tub! That was a little insane. Jess did a great job of washing everyone's hair!
We decorated Erin's house for an Under the Sea theme day. The kids thought this was awesome!

Right before I left Reece and Channing thought it would be fun to blow bubbles with their lips on Erin's glass windows. It was so funny and loud that I had to get it on video too!

LYTTON'S BROTHER PASSED AWAY

Thursday, January 23, 2014

Right after I pulled in to St George, I got a phone call from Lytton saying that his BROTHER, DAVID BASTIAN, passed away suddenly from a sudden illness. I was SO SAD for Lytton and so shocked, as were we all. Lytton was particularly close to this BROTHER. They enjoyed HUNTING, FARMING, AND SNOWMOBILING together, just to name a few. My heart just broke for him and his FAMILY. I immediately put his name and the names of his family in the temple so that they could feel some PEACE and COMFORT at this horrible time. When I got home from St George on Monday night, Mom called and said she would like to go to the FUNERAL with me in Arimo, Idaho the next morning. We drove up there and it was such a great SERVICE. It was so nice to hear the fun stories about DAVID. Lytton and each of his BROTHERS spoke and they all did a fabulous job. We stayed for the luncheon afterwards and we were so glad that we went to support Lytton and Ashley at this difficult time. I love you guys! The following pics are from the first time Ashley went SNOWMOBILING with them.
David was paralyzed from the waist down in a Bull Riding accident when he was 15 years old but it didn't stop him from enjoying all of the outdoor activities that he loved.

This is David when we were branding cows.

Lytton and his best men at the wedding. David doesn't like to smile much!
Lytton and his brothers, and his Dad

I am so mad I left my camera in the car back at the church instead of taking it at the gravesite where the bagpipes played Amazing Grace. But I got a few pics at the luncheon afterwards.

Some of Lytton's family and close friends
