SERVICE IS A GREAT GIFT!

October 2013
My Dad turned 80 years old on Oct 9, 2013. I cannot believe it! We wanted to do something special for him and wanted to have an awesome PARTY for him. We debated whether to have it at his house or at a nice restaurant. Then Jan came up with the best idea! He needs a ton of help out in his backyard, and he has to tear down his waterfall because the cinderblocks were caving in his barn wall, then his roof over the garage needed to be replaced and he had a lot that needed to be done. So we all met over there and worked all day to help him get some things done that he just couldn't do all by himself. Scott and Chad fixed the roof, Andy, Morgan, Diane, Brody and Lytton tore down the waterfall and me, Mona, Deb, and Mom tore out all the old vines that were ruining his fence, and cleaned out a lot of wood and stuff. Jan and Stacy were the go to girls and did the running around for us and washed windows and worked inside Dad's house. Everyone worked hard and Dad kept saying this was his best birthday ever! He couldn't have asked for anything better. He was so grateful. We'll have to do stuff like this every year for Father's Day and his B-day.

I gathered a ton of pics from his childhood to present, and Zach made a video of  Grandpa Tom's  "First 80 years". It was fun to watch. We all sat down and had ice cream and cake and watched his life in pictures. It was awesome! Wow! Some of our old family pictures were hysterical.

Here's to several more fun years Dad! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
We cleaned out all of these vines and wood piles all along the fence.
Scott and Chad worked so hard fixing Dad's roof. They spent many hours up there!
This made me sad. Dad loves waterfalls and here it is all torn down. These guys worked their tails off too!

They had to move all of this soil and cement and rocks away from this wall.

Mom stayed inside and tended this little guy. He is only 2 weeks old!
