ZERMATT RESORT GETAWAY!

May 10-11, 2019

Jenny's Birthday is May 8th and she wanted to do something fun for her birthday. She didn't think she'd be going through Radiation again for another birthday. So to cheer her up we took her up to Midway by Park City to the ZERMATT RESORT for a night. We went to some fun DINERS you need to check out. We had the most relaxing weekend! You'll probably think we are nuts because all we wanted to do was watch SEASON 4 OF POLDARK!!  Check out this super fun night we had:

We started out by going to the ROAD ISLAND DINER in Oakley. We loved eating in this old TRAIN CAR. We just missed the rushed lunch hour so we got special attention from the waiter. He was decorating a bunch of Carrot Cake and came over and gave me the big spatula spoon full of cream cheese frosting! You know frosting is my favorite! So that was a bonus surprise!

 These Shoestring Onion Rings were the best I have ever tasted. The meatloaf sandwich was ok.

Then we checked in at the ZERMATT RESORT. It was so much fun! We ate Strawberry Boston Cream Pie for Jenny's Birthday and then we literally watched 7 episodes of POLDARK. I am totally obsessed with Aidan Turner who plays Ross Poldark! Jenny and Mom watched 3 seasons this week to be ready to watch Season 4 on this night out! It was so much fun!!

When we took a potty break between episodes we got out the cake and sang to Jenny! Happy Birthday Jenny! We love you!

 It got so hot in our room...could have been Ross Poldark, but this nice guy Ron had to come in twice and had to reset our thermostat! He probably thought we were nuts all 4 ladies in our beds watching TV for hours! It was the most relaxing vacay I have ever taken I tell ya!

We woke up the next morning and watched another episode before we went down to their restaurant and had Eggs Benedict for Breakfast...Delish!

Afterwards we went shopping at the Outlet Stores so Jenny could buy her a Coach Purse to add to her collection. What a bargain! She got a $500 purse for $125 and she had a $100 gift card! Super!

After shopping we drove to the MIRROR LAKE DINER for lunch. It was really good! We loved it!

When I told my ladies at book group the night before we left, that I was going to eat at Mirror Lake Diner, my friend said I had to stop at the gas station up there because they were just named the BEST DONUTS IN UTAH! So we checked it out and it was in the Chevron Gas Station across the street from the Diner. They are famous for the Raspberry Fritter. We asked for one and the lady behind us laughed and said you have to be here very early in the morning because they sell out so fast. The other DONUTS were delicious too but still don't hold a candle to the DONUTS in PHILLY!

We drove home to watch the last 2 episodes of Poldark Season 4 at Joyce's house.

We all kept saying how much we needed this overnight getaway. We all mentioned over and over how much fun this was. I love being with these ladies. We laugh hard and have the best time together!

When we got home to Joyce's we planned our next weekend getaway in September to Vegas to see Barry Manilow and hit Tuacahn on the way! Love traveling with these guys! So much fun!!
