DAY 7: LIBERTY JAIL AND ADAM ONDI AHMAN

September 11, 2018

We drove to LIBERTY JAIL. Wow! What the PROPHET went through there was so horrible. The way they were treated was just awful. It was here that he asked the Lord, why has thou forsaken me? The Lord goes on to say that his afflictions will be but a small moment. I'm paraphrasing D&C 121:7 of course. They had ceilings only 6 ft high and the prophet was taller than that so he couldn't stand up without being stooped. They sat and slept on rough stone floors with inadequate blankets. It was the coldest winter on record. They were not being fed well. In fact was fed flesh at one time and they tried to poison them 4 times. It was just a horrible hell they had to endure.
This is a pic of the original jail.

The rocks surrounding it were 4 feet deep so they could not escape.

That was a very humbling experience seeing that jail.

Next we hopped on the bus and headed out for ADAM ONDI AHMAN. We stopped at this cute little store in the middle of the Country in Farr West. An LDS man owned it and it was like a small Seagull Book pretty much.

We drove to ADAM ONDI AHMAN and ate lunch and had a fireside where our instructor taught us.

This is a very significant place. It is where Jesus Christ will meet with all of the prophets from modern day, handing back the Priesthood Keys clear through to Moses, and Adam where he will hand them back to Jesus. It's also believed to be where Adam and Eve were when they were kicked out of the Garden of Eden.

I tried to do a panaramic photo here.

This is our friend we met on the tour. She joined us for dinner at Cracker Barrel. She travels by herself because her Mom passed away. She used to go with her Mom. So sad!

Mom, Debbie and Me...we had to wear these masks in Walmart just for a pic for Steven. Ha! Ha!
