DAY 4: NIAGRA FALLS, JOHN JOHNSON FARM AND MARY YODER AMISH RESTAURANT

September 9, 2018

HAPPY 82ND BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET MOM! We got to do something VERY FUN for her birthday! We rode the MAID OF THE MIST at NIAGRA FALLS! It was a blast! It was a cold day and we had to purchase extra sweatshirts and jackets but that didn't deter us from having a blast! It was cold and overcast and windy too but once we put on our blue slickers and rode the boat out to see the FALLS it was pure fun and excitement! We got sprayed by the water and we couldn't get over how powerful and how much water poured from those Falls!

This is the New York side of the Falls

Then it was time to get our slickers on and off we went! I was so excited!
This was part of the Canada side.
Can you see those humongous falls??!!
We were laughing and really enjoying this, especially when we would get splashed!

It was fun and I wish I could do it again!

After we decided to hike up to the top of it so we could see it close up.

Man, that so powerful! I am mesmerized by the power of that water!

I just couldn't get over the beauty of all of this!  Jenny had just finished radiation and still feeling the effects of it and so we were shocked when she ended up climbing up here to be with us. She said if an 82 year old lady can do it, so can I. Silly! I was happy she could be in this awesome picture with us though.

Just a few more pics:
 Isn't that pretty?

 What a beautiful view!

Then we drove through a very green and beautiful Buffalo, New York  for 4 hours to Hiram, Ohio, where we stopped at the John Johnson Farm. It was pouring rain but I was so impressed by this huge home, especially for that time period. This is where Joseph stayed for awhile and received many revelations, including the 3 Degrees of Glory. Several conferences were held here and They made the Book of Commandments  from all the revelations he received here, which eventually became the Doctrine and Covenants.

After this we went to an Amish Restaurant called Mary Yoder's. It was good, especially the pie! I loved seeing Amish Buggy's driving down the roads. That is so cool!
