HORSE AUCTION

April 7, 2018

Ashley is ready to buy a HORSE or two for her kids to start learning how to RIDE. She's been looking around and searching KSL and all of the HORSES that she likes say they are going to be at the HORSE AUCTION in Ogden.  We had never been to a HORSE AUCTION before so we thought we'd give it a try. It was SO interesting and I really enjoyed it! We got there early so we could see the horses and what they could do so Ashley could decide what ones to BID on.

Remington sat there for 6 hours not causing any problems at all! He was SO GOOD! He just played with a few Lego cars, and some writing book that Ashley brought and he kept himself entertained. I was so impressed! Lytton was home sick with the two little girls. They would have been HARD had they come with us. But since they didn't, this turned out to be a very nice, slow enjoyable day.

The time came for the AUCTION to begin and we had our favorites all picked out and were so excited! There were some really great HORSES for kids that they demonstrated how the kids rode them, and they didn't spook with balls being bounced around them, etc...

Well, everyone else with a lot more money loved those same HORSES and within seconds they were way over our budget! Dang it!

Ashley was excited, yet nervous to hold up her number sign to BID but she got an itch to BID on a HORSE so this one came out and she BID on it and I was like Ashley, what are you doing? He isn't on your list! She said well, let's just see!  Well, she won the BID and she was shocked! When she went to inquire on how to pay for it and pick it up, a man came up to her and said, "Hey, I would like that horse, I will give you $200 more than what you paid for it." Ashley said, I don't think so. I think we'll keep her. Well, Lytton was too sick to come pick it up so Ashley was thinking of what we should do. She called my brother Scott, and his wife Jan to see if they would be willing to bring their trailer and pick up the HORSE.  They were so nice about it and we were so thankful that they just dropped everything they were doing to come help Ashley!

Ashley went down to the stalls to see her new HORSE and she kind of gasped when she saw it! It looked so skinny and like it wasn't well. You couldn't tell when it came out with the blanket and saddle on it but she was not happy about it. She decided she would try to find that guy that wanted it because she didn't. The man and his family came out to look at it and Ashley told him she was worried about the weight. He still wanted it and thought that he could help this horse. So, luckily for Ashley she wasn't out any money. She felt bad having Scott and Jan come out for no reason but we were so happy to see them and visit with them!!

So...we are still on the lookout for a kid friendly HORSE!  I was so glad I got to go to this HORSE AUCTION with Ashley, Remington and my Mom and so happy to see my Scott and Jan! That totally made my day!
