BIG GRANDMA'S FAREWELL PARTY

Aug 25, 2015

A few weeks after Big Grandma turned 101 years old, she started sleeping a lot! On Sunday, Diane, Andy, Morgan, Logan and Mom went to get a 5 Generation pic with Big Grandma. She was in a deep sleep and they couldn't wake her up. The nurse came in and told Mom that Grandma was going through a "transition" and she probably wouldn't live through the week. Joyce flew in the next day and so I emailed the family and said we need to get together to say our final GOOD-BYES to her. Zach was asked to give her a Priesthood Blessing. We were able to call all of our FAMILY that live in other states, and we FaceTimed them so they didn't miss out Everyone was able to tell Grandma how much they loved her and how much she would be missed. Zach gave a blessing telling her that she had accomplished all that she needed to do on this earth. 9 hours later, she passed away peacefully in her sleep with her two daughters, my mom, Shirley, and my aunt, Joyce, at her side. It was a beautiful experience for both of them. Grandma will truly be missed. I feel so blessed that I was able to spend so much time with her. I have tons of fun MEMORIES of her! I am so glad that she traveled so much with us and was always willing to do and go wherever we wanted to. She was so funny and witty and I will miss that. The last few years she was so funny with my Grandkids and boy, did she love those babies! I am so happy that my Grandkids, and her Great- Great Grandkids got to know her and that I have lots of pictures and video of them with her. She surely was a delight and I will miss her so much!

I took pics of everyone with Grandma, but I am not going to post them. Grandma probably wouldn't appreciate me putting her pic on the internet with her hair not done and her asleep, ha ha :) Instead here are pics of all of us there.
