Can I just tell ya, I have NEVER been so STRESSED at a Sporting Event in my life as I was watching Boston in this State Championship!
Boston has worked his tail off preparing all year for this tournament. He has improved so much this year and has taken 1st place in many tournaments but this is the one he wanted BAD! So he practiced, and practiced and unfortunately, a few days before the tournament Boston got SO SICK! He had fever, and sore throat (Strep), and pretty sure he had the flu. We were devastated at the thought that he might not be well enough to compete, or if he was feeling better that he wouldn't have the energy he'd need for all of his matches.
Turns out that he was feeling better, and he fought with all his might, even though he admitted he was tired and that some of the matches took it all out of him, but that kid NEVER GAVE UP! And we were proud as heck of him when he came home with 2nd PLACE SUPER STATE CHAMP!
He lost one match to a kid he beat a few weeks earlier in Heber. But he was a heck of a wrestler, and if he were to lose to anyone, Zach said he was glad it was against this kid.
So proud of Boston and all of his HARD WORK!
Look how big these trophy's are!
Joyce and Grandma Shirley came out to support Boston, and me. Freak I was stressed!
So proud of this tough kiddo!
Love him with everything I got!
Chase came to show his support too! Zach and Chase have been friends for life!
Papa Neal loves giving Boston pointers. He gets so into Boston's Wrestling
Boston checking in.
This was heartbreaking to watch. After Boston lost, he went and shook the hands of his opponent and his coach, then ran to get loves from Zach. He wanted this so bad. Oh it kills me to see him lose when he has prepared and fought hard, but darn it if we don't learn a ton from our losses. Shortly after receiving his trophy he was happy. He loved his huge trophy and he was proud of his 2nd place!
