Ashley was 3 days overdue, so she was scheduled to have an ULTRA SOUND. When they did the Ultra Sound the US tech said that the BABY was measuring about 9 lbs 9 oz! What?? We didn't think she was going to have a very big baby. When her doctor heard that she immediately sent Ashley up to the HOSPITAL. They were going to induce her LABOR. She was induced at 1:00 pm, and I was there by 1:30. I was SO EXCITED!! Well Ash wasn't dilating very quickly, and to make a long story short, she ended up dilating to a 10 at 3:00 am! And then she went quick 2 pushes and the baby's head was right there and 25 minutes later REMINGTON SOREN BASTIAN was born at 3:55 am, weighing a whopping 10 lbs and measuring 22 inches long! We were absolutely amazed at how BIG this BABY was! We thought Ashley would need a C-Section but she was so amazing and she delivered him naturally. I was so blessed to have witnessed this miracle. I was able to video tape and take pics and it was truly an amazing experience. Lytton did a great job too. What a joy it was to see him hold his SON for the first time. I stepped out to give them some private time together and to show off the BABY pics to his parents who were waiting outside the room. After we got her settled in her room, I had to leave to go to Ray's funeral. It was a roller coaster of emotions for me that day. I cried because of the beautiful blessing of having a GRANDSON added to my FAMILY, and then cried having to experience burying my Stepdad on the same day. After the funeral we went back up to the hospital to see Remington again, and I was so tired for being up 40 hours, I just spent the night in Ashley's room on the couch. Wow! I am so thrilled to be a GRANDMA to 2 BOYS! WELCOME BABY REMINGTON!
