MEMORIAL DAY PICNIC

The FAMILY went to LIBERTY PARK for a PICNIC today. We were planning on riding the PADDLE BOATS and playing on the TOYS but it was crowded and we had to park on the total opposite end of the park so we just sat under the trees and ate our PICNIC. It was nice to just RELAX and be TOGETHER. I want so badly to ride the BOATS that I will be back here sometime this summer!

TONY'S GROVE

Lytton made us DUTCH OVEN BREAKFAST and it was delicious! We packed up CAMP and took a drive up the road a few miles to TONY'S GROVE. Oh my! It was so BEAUTIFUL! Seriously, I didn't want to leave. Lytton goes SNOWMOBILING here and was showing us all the places he would go and how deep the SNOW was here. There was still SNOW up there and it looked so PRETTY with the tall PINES and the glassy WATER in the LAKE.  Zach and Boston threw rocks in the lake, Bentley jumped in the FREEZING cold WATER to fetch a stick and loved it. We walked up the trail and Zach and Boston found SNOW! Boston loved carrying his SNOWBALL around even if it was FREEZING his little hands!

CAMPING UP LOGAN CANYON

After Zach, Mikell and Ashley finished working on Saturday, we all drove up LOGAN CANYON (can I just say right now...BEAUTIFUL!) We drove up looking for a CAMPGROUND that wasn't totally crowded or right by the river. We were worried about Boston around the water. So we kept driving up the canyon and before you know it we were up by TONY'S GROVE. We found a very remote CAMP space. It was SO AWESOME! It was beautiful and we were the only ones up there and it was a lot of FUN! We roasted HOT DOGS and MARSHMALLOWS again and then we SHOT GUNS and my awesome CO2 POWERED BB GUN! That thing is FUN! Ashley bought me COLORED TARGETS so it makes a new color when you hit the TARGET. It was so much fun! Mikell is awesome at shooting the SLINGSHOT! Lytton brought up his TARGET that has metal things that flip around when you hit it (it's called a Plinkit)  It was so cool! So Zach and Lytton shot their GUNS at it.

Because we were in such a remote area and there was a dead whole carcass of an elk in the stream by us I was scared to death of BEAR or MOUNTAIN LIONS. There up there you know! I was happy Ash had her dogs up there to warn us of danger. One time Suzie started barking and growling and it scared me to death! Lytton shot his GUN several time to scare off anything lurking around.

It was awesome sitting around the CAMPFIRE with my FAMILY. I love them so much!

CAMPING IN A CAVE!

We wanted to go CAMPING this weekend but it RAINED so hard we thought for sure our CAMPING TRIP would be ruined. But there was a break in the rain and we had BLUE SKIES without a DARK CLOUD in sight! So me, Ash, Lytton, Tanner and Nate decided to chance it, and we drove up PROVIDENCE CANYON and CAMPED anyway! We were driving up the CANYON when all of a sudden it started RAINING, AND HAILING! My SLEEPING BAG was in the back of the truck and got DRENCHED! Just my luck! When we got to our spot, the guys put up the TENT and then there was a small little HIKE up from us and there was a CAVE where Nate has CAMPED in and it was a perfect place to have our CAMP FIRE and it totally protected us from the RAIN. We made the BEST HOT DOGS EVER! I found this great idea on PINTEREST! You take a HOT DOG, wrap CHEESE around it, and then wrap a CROISSANT dough around it and then COOK it over the FIRE! DELICIOUS!!  After we ate and talked and sat around the FIRE we went to bed. I was so COLD and so Ashley wrapped me in like 6 blankets. I instantly fell asleep and was warm all night :) When we woke up Lytt cooked us breakfast and then we came home and decided we would do it all over again next weekend!

 

HAMBURGER ANYONE?

After flying the kite, we came home and Boston got to open his "NEW TOY" It's a BARBECUE GRILL so he can GRILL HAMBURGERS just like Daddy! He was SO EXCITED and SO FUNNY! He kept making me HOT DOGS and HAMBURGERS and was SO SERIOUS about it. He looked so FUNNY pretending to eat his FOOD.  What he enjoyed doing the most was putting his HAND on the GRILL and saying, "IT BURNED ME!" and then putting his HAND under the fake FAUCET of COLD WATER! Then he would say, "Grandma's turn" and he'd hold my HAND on the GRILL and saying, "IT BURN YOU!" and hurrying to get my hand under the FAKE WATER. We played with this GRILL all night. The next day we played with it again for HOURS! He would put all of his FOOD in the OVEN under the GRILL and saying "HOT!" and then start blowing on it. Oh he was so cute! He is so much FUN! I LOVE HIM TO PIECES! It's so FUN to hear him TALK!

LET'S GO FLY A KITE!

Zach got Boston's KITE put together and since it was a WINDY evening, it was a PERFECT DAY to GO FLY A KITE! Boston was EXCITED to see the KITE FLYING so HIGH! We RODE BIKES down to the PARK to FLY THE KITE. What a FUN night!!
